The DDO group completed its 100th quest last night as we began work on the Litany of the Dead series, Part 2.

It was a very long night as we swam through a very tedious, three-dimensional, underwater cavern to take on many different types of hard to hit incorporeal monsters.  The Tomb of the Shadow Guard provided only a few deaths, but a lot patience in retracing back through the area just resume the journey back to defeat the final mummy guardian.

I've been very pleased with the DDO division in general with the disciplined approach we've adopted since its inception.  Considering our normal meeting schedule of once a week with there frequently being no meeting due to other real life conflicts, this is an accomplishment to be proud of.  Thanks to all the current members of the group and others in the past who've contributed along the way!

I did not realize it was the 100th quest until after looking at our running quest log, so there's no screenshot.  Instead, here's a picture of a stuffed lion!

Lol, cute lion.

But I must ask, why a lion? What does it symbolize? Are we kings of DDO just as he is king of the jungle? But where does that leave me, a female: am I included in this misogynistic imagery or not?

I rather think male lions are seen as kings because of their indolence: resting much of the day as others bring them tribute in the form of food, running their harems, the occasional battle for supremacy against another would-be king.

We however, WORKED as a team for our goal. Perhaps something like a beehive would be a more appropriate symbol? Or how about a wolf pack?

But in the end, I just think that lion is very cute.

I think the above clearly shows that manes are only symbolic.  It's the females that are really in charge.
